It's amazing how big dancehall reggae is in Japan! Nationwide there must be thousands of artistes, sound systems, dancers and regular events from street side juggling to stadium size sessions. Especially in Osaka, dancehall is everywhere. During just a daytime visit to this huge city, you will most likely hear some of the latest Jamaican riddims blasting from car stereos, clothing stores or even at the teppanyaki joint on the corner. The Osakan Burndown Sound was originated in 1996 and nowadays they are one of Nippon's most famous sound systems and a major contributor to the whole movement. They play music at parties every week, organise big events and they also have their own record label, South Yaad Muzik. Burndown's enormous collection of well cut dubplates could stand against any sound in the world willing to clash. The sound crew has spent a lot of time in Jamaica and during the last few years they have become more and more internationally active performing in Switzerland, UK and JA. Tonight it's all about good vibes and great music! We are proud to present one of our alltime favorite reggae artists live in session - the veteran crooner Glen Washington! Known for countless hits spanning the decades, Glen started his career already in the seventies on the Joe Gibbs label and has kept himself busy since - originally a drummer, he has toured the world from early, playing alongside a lot of reggae's great artists before taking the stage himself. Mr. Washington's big tunes, such as "One of These Days", "Jah Glory", "Satisfaction Guaranteed" and "The Right Road", all stand out with their positive charge and wicked musical delivery. He is definitely one of the big singer voices in reggae - standing firm alongside legends such as Dennis Brown, Sugar Minott and Beres Hammond.
